Sept 25, 2010, I will swim 2.4 miles, I will bike 112 miles, and I will run 26.2 miles.
Why, because I want to change the way we look at local charity. I want to set the bar high and be a good example to the young people in my life and in our community. I came back to Kansas because I love it here, and I wanted my life to affect the lives of my nieces and nephews.
HIV and Aids isn’t pretty, it’s easy to think it isn’t your disease and you are not affected by it. But until there is a cure, for anything, for any fight,
-We all are sick, and we all need help.
WE CAN DO THIS TOGETHER.
The Topeka AIDS Project is a community-based program committed to working with HIV-infected persons and their significant loved ones, and through education minimizing the HIV infection rate.
The Topeka AIDS Project provides direct client services and networks closely with other community-based agencies and service providers to assist in meeting the clients’ social, legal, educational, and health care needs.
In an effort to reduce HIV infection, Topeka AIDS Project provides the community with appropriate education services to increase understanding, reduce fears, and gain knowledge of risk-reduction practices.
In the past 25 years unbelievable progress has been made in HIV and AIDS research, but there are still some very startling facts. Facts the kids I work with were not aware of. Facts that could change their lives. Facts that Topeka Aids Project works to get out there. But they need more help. And the help needed is money.
